As the stress of final exams slowly begins to dissipate and final grades finish their agonizing trickle in, we would like to extend our warmest, most excited congratulations to this year’s graduates.

We can imagine that this school year wasn’t exactly what you had in mind when you thought about your senior year. Running a victory lap around the house isn’t the same as running maskless through the halls of your newest alma mater, but you deserve that lap of the house anyways. You earned this.

Regardless of whether you were allowed to be on campus this year or if you took on the entire year in your pjs at your kitchen table, this school year required an incredible amount of flexibility and grit. These are skills you will carry for the rest of your life, honed through juggling an entire semester of classes through your computer screen while trying to keep up with friends and classmates scattered across the country, if not the world.

This school year required an incredible amount of flexibility and grit.

You pushed remote learning to its absolute limit and have come out on top. You navigated the tricky minefield of talking primarily through email and direct message, learning how to communicate intent and nuance with nothing other than the text on the page. You kept yourself motivated even when your friends weren’t there to inspire you. You mastered the ever-confusing art of an at-home exam.

We wish you could have mastered these skills while juggling a full schedule of classes, labs and extra-curriculars, managing stress by grabbing coffee with friends. This year isn’t what anyone could have predicted, but it has also proven your abilities on a level far beyond what anyone could have foreseen.

Congratulations. We’ve been cheering for you this entire year and we couldn’t be more excited for everything you’ve achieved. You did it.
