With university courses progressing during an unprecedented time of social distancing, students need flexible and reliable support from home to excel in their courses. At Nimbus Learning, we are dedicated to supporting students and their communities, whatever the situation we find ourselves in.

To this end, we have been working around the clock to develop an online tutoring platform to add to the products we already offer.

The new online tutoring feature allows students who are using the Nimbus app to participate in the tutoring session they’ve booked through a video conference call. The platform also includes a whiteboard feature, giving students and tutors a fully flexible way to illustrate concepts. An integrated chat function allows students to write down thoughts or questions to their tutors as they teach, as well as interact with their tutors if they find themselves in a location where they can’t talk (like a library or noisy apartment).

The system will have a four-phase roll out period:

March 31st: Mobile video conferencing system goes live with chat feature

April 6th: Desktop video conferencing system goes live; users will be able to use desktop to desktop, or mobile to desktop video conferencing

April 27th: Screen sharing features for both mobile and desktop goes live, as well as the desktop chat and feedback features

May 25th: Whiteboard feature goes live

Performance statistics such as demand for specific tutors and topics are available to administrations to assist in the planning and recruitment for their programs.

To support our partners through these challenging times, we are providing access to the online tutoring platform free of charge throughout the spring and summer and will be in contact with all of our current partners to ensure this roll out happens as smoothly as possible. Should any tutoring organizations we have not already partnered with like support in developing or expanding a campus tutoring program, please let us know. It would be an honour to be of assistance to any educational institute through this uncertain period.

Stay safe, stay healthy and keep learning.

    Hello,

I am a Vanier College student and need tutoring during August for Calculus 1.

Are you going to engage with Vanier College ?

How can I get access to your free on-line tutorial services ?

    Many thanks for your help.

    Michael

Hi Michael, we currently don’t have a partnership with Vanier College, but if you write to your Student Union asking for our services, we can definitely make efforts to connect
