Jennifer Palfi is the Marketing Manager for Nimbus Learning, responsible for planning and executing Nimbus’s marketing strategy, supporting our partners’ marketing efforts and creating all of those beautiful graphics you see on our social media pages. Jenn merges her artistic flair with solid planning skills, which allows her to produce large-scale projects – like the video series you can find around the website!
Jenn walked us through a typical day for her at Nimbus, and gave some pointers for how to set your day up to be able to completely focus on the daily tasks.
First thing I do in the morning is head out for a walk with my dog, Charlie. I never used to be a fan of leaving the house so early in the morning but Charlie is so excited to get outside and smell the smells that I always start to feel myself perk up before we turn around to come home.
I make a coffee and grab breakfast. Lately I’ve been loving veggie omelettes.
I check my personal business emails before I start work for the day. I run an online greeting card business in my own time, so I like to check in on everything before I start with Nimbus. This way I can give 100 per cent of my attention to my Nimbus work without being distracted by wondering what’s going on with the card shop.
I check my Nimbus inbox and plan out my day.
I check on all of Nimbus’s social media platforms, including checking and recording analytics and seeing how each post performed in the last week. I also interact with our community every morning on each platform (Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, and Instagram) by replying to comments, liking posts or sharing thought provoking content!
Typically on Mondays I take a good chunk of my day to plan out our social media content for the week: creating the graphics and captions, and inputting them into our social media planning system Later. This process involved checking with our content creator to collaborate on the weekly blog content and lots of web browsing to find Inspo and relevant content for our followers.
The afternoon I typically spend working on a major project like our website redesign, or coordinating for a commercial shoot. Honestly every week is so different, but typically the rest of my afternoon is spent working on either one major project or requests from our partners like creating graphics.
End of the day. After 5 p.m. I typically head to the gym for a workout (I’m so happy that gyms are finally open again!), and take the rest of the evening for myself to unwind and relax. I’ll give Charlie a longer walk before the day is done to make sure he’s had enough exercise.
