Tell us your story for a chance to win!

A woman stands in front of a purple background, she appears to be calmly meditating. Text beside her reads “Annual Mental Health Screenwriting Contest. Every student has a story in partnership with Layla. Win $1500 CAD + chance to be produced.”

At Nimbus Learning, one of our key goals is to support the student experience. Throughout our own time as post secondary students, we watched as our peers put time and effort into finding support on top of an already intense workload, juggling school, jobs and family responsibilities. We know firsthand the stress that an overwhelming workload can bring and we are working to ensure students everywhere feel heard, valued and supported.

To help students be heard, we are proud to collaborate with Layla Care and Open Screenplay for their annual mental health screenwriting contest! We want to hear about your journey navigating mental health as a student.

The story is entirely up to you, and our friends over at Layla have a few ideas to help you get started:

How does being in school create additional challenges for your mental health? What types of grassroots initiatives are you involved in to raise awareness about mental health and stigma on campus? How has your school supported you or fell short to support when you were dealing with a mental health crisis? How has being a student felt more lonely during COVID-19? Share your story with us, to help guide and support others that can relate and see themselves in your story

About Layla

Layla is a mental health service in Ontario and Alberta that facilitates therapy for individuals, couples, families, and groups. We know that finding a mental health therapist is not easy and finding one that’s the right fit is even harder. When a patient is in need of support, it’s important that they find and receive the care that’s right for them, as quickly and as seamlessly as possible. That’s where Layla comes in.
