Accessibility statement
Everyone should be able to read this site, use it, and reach our team. Here is what we do, what we know is not perfect yet, and how to tell us.
Our goal
We aim for this website to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. The site has not yet had an independent audit. The statement below describes what we have built and tested ourselves.
What we have done
- Every page works with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus outline and a “Skip to content” link.
- Pages use headings, landmarks, and labels that screen readers can follow.
- Text and controls meet WCAG AA colour contrast.
- Form fields have visible labels, and errors are announced and tied to the field they belong to.
- Motion stops when your device is set to reduce motion. Moving logos can also be paused.
- The site follows your device settings: text size, increased contrast, reduced transparency, and Windows contrast themes.
- Layouts work from small phones to wide screens, and at up to 200% browser zoom.
- We check every page with automated testing (axe-core) at desktop and phone widths, and review it by hand.
Accessibility settings
Every page has an accessibility settings button in the bottom-left corner. You can also open it with Alt + A, or from the footer. Your choices are saved on your device.
- Profiles for low vision, seizure safety, ADHD, and cognitive or dyslexia needs.
- Larger text, extra line and letter spacing, a highly readable font, and left-aligned text.
- Dark or light high contrast, monochrome, and lower or higher colour saturation.
- A text magnifier, a reading guide, a reading mask, and an on-screen keyboard for the contact form.
- Stop animations, mute video sound, hide images, a larger cursor, and stronger focus outlines.
- A menu to jump straight to any section of the page.
The Nimbus app
The Nimbus platform used by students, tutors, and staff is built to WCAG 2.1 AA. If you run into a barrier in the app, tell us using the contact details below.
Known limitations
- Some partner logos are small image files and may look soft when enlarged.
- Links to partner websites lead to pages we do not control.
- Videos show captions we wrote and checked, and the captions are always on. To keep them on screen, these videos cannot play full screen.
Tell us about a barrier
If something on this site or in the app does not work for you, send us a message, or email [email protected]. Tell us the page, what you were trying to do, and the device or assistive technology you use. We can also provide information in another format.
