The situation
Warner Pacific is a private university in Portland, Oregon, with fewer than 1,000 students. Its Center for Academic Success & Achievement runs tutoring with a small team. The general booking system it used before could not book a specific class, so a student struggling in a second-year nursing course could only book a science or physiology session.
What Nimbus did
Students now book a session for the exact class they need, and can request a tutor for a class that has none. Tutors manage their own posted schedules. Calendar integration and simple onboarding make it easy for students and staff.
The result
Program usage rose 200%. The team saves 5–10 hours of setup at the start of each semester and 2–3 hours a week after that: 31–46 hours per semester, even with triple the usage. They are now using Nimbus data to explore which classes students struggle in but rarely seek help for.
“I love the fact that students now know they can request tutors for a specific class through the Nimbus app class request function. That helps me know what needs there are.”
“Nimbus has allowed me to spend more time on higher-level strategies around student retention and student success.”
