The MIT Talented Scholars Resource Room

Nimbus Learning has helped us be able to focus on the other aspects of the Talented Scholars Resource Room, like hiring, maintaining the program and maintaining the administrative portions of the program, which ultimately will make the program more successful.”

Assistant Dean for Academic Excellence programs, MIT Office of Minority Education

In line with the world-class reputation of MIT, TSR^2 offers top-notch services at an incredibly efficient pace, optimizing a small team to meet the needs of their student body. The TSR^2 team needed a responsive program that could take over the time-consuming and repetitive tasks, while being easy for students to adapt to and use during stressful periods of their academic calendar.

Lakeland College

I like how the students can just connect with the tutor directly. That messaging is handled all within the system – we’re not sharing anything, so that privacy is maintained. That makes scheduling way easier.

Derek Collins

Chair of Teaching and Learning at Lakeland College

Lakeland uses Nimbus Learning to cut back, big time, on the amount of time and effort it takes to run their tutoring program.

University of Manitoba

“The digitalization of the program is huge. Having an app format makes it so much more accessible for both students and for tutors. It’s a very familiar format for people and it’s available on both Samsung and Apple products. It’s just great.”

Amy Lloyd

Director of Academics with the Science Students’ Association

Two faculty associations at the University of Manitoba, the Engineering Society and the Science Students’ Association, connected with Nimbus to streamline their volunteer tutoring programs.

It’s easy to connect with students because they can find you in the app and send you a message. Tutors also make their times available right on the app. It takes away a lot of the back and forth, emailing questions about pricing, availability, or what courses you teach. Nimbus just sort of deals with all of that and streamlines it.”

Katarina Allan

President of Mount Saint Vincent University Student Union

Mount Saint Vincent University Student Union President, Katarina Allan, takes on a bird’s eye view of the tutoring program and Nimbus’ role within it. Allan says the platform makes tutoring more efficient, gets rid of the back and forth to book a session, and provides an easy way for tutors to advertise services.

Nipissing University

Nimbus has really, significantly changed my interaction with a program that I have wanted to see succeed, but was being held back by its own realities. And that means the world.

Lindsey Voisin

Student Learning Coordinator of Writing & Academic Skills at Nipissing University

Nimbus Learning was able to help alleviate many of the challenges Nipissing was experiencing in launching their tutoring program, leading to a significant jump in sessions in just one semester. (79 times more sessions compared to the previous year, to be exact.)

St. Francis-Xavier University

Nimbus has helped me to know what’s going on — knowing which courses people are searching for. It’s a lot better than the black-box method of trying to have a tutor for everything but not knowing who’s working on what.

Mark Leeming

Learning Skills Coordinator at St. Francis Xavier University

Leeming found the Nimbus platform allowed him to keep better track of the tutors, creating a more precise registry and a better understanding of what types of tutors are needed.

The Alma Mater Society at the University of British Columbia

Nimbus helped a lot because they reached out to many AMS constituencies – the clubs and organizations at UBC, like the arts undergrad societies, the economics society, geography…

Sheldon Birkett

Coordinator, Alma Mater Society tutoring

The Alma Mater Society at the University of British Columbia had an incredibly successful first semester with Nimbus. They quadrupled the amount of tutoring sessions run, reduced their administrative workload, and began a group online tutoring feature with Nimbus.

University of Manitoba Engineering Society

[Our exec team] really liked what they saw with Nimbus, mainly that everything was encapsulated in one platform. The big thing for me was having the online whiteboard feature, so during these trying times students will be able to teach each other online.

With Nimbus’ help, we had a head start in how the payment and booking system works – students can search up the course they need help on in the app, and if they see a tutor they want to book, they can do it themselves. This process relieved much of the stress I would have when it comes to peer tutor and student pairing, allowing myself to focus on other administrative tasks.
